The Moorabinda Story
Moorabinda Farm is surrounded by the magnificent granite boulders of Girraween, on the traditional lands of the Kambulwal and Bundjalung peoples.
Our family has called this home for more than 100 years, spanning over four generations of McMenimans. Originally a pioneering family to the area, the McMenimans grazed cattle through Paling Yard, now known as Girraween National Park.
Moorabinda Farm is located in the heart of the Granite Belt region, 1000 metres above sea level with optimal growing conditions for garlic.
Locally grown and cared for garlic, regenerative farming on the Granite Belt
More recently, Dave McMeniman began to plan, cultivate and nurture the family farm, Moorabinda. Moorabinda meaning “foot of the hills” is now home to our small, locally driven, regenerative garlic farm.
The determination, hard work and passion behind Moorabinda Farm is 100% Dave. Dave is committed to regenerative farming practices, slow farming that uses no chemicals and puts more into the soil than is taken out. We want the environment to repair, the soil to be healthy and the land to be here for many more generations to come.
Dave has been slowly nurturing a small area, creating healthy soil biomes to ensure our garlic is healthy, full of flavour and nutrient dense. The result is locally Australian grown and cared for garlic, and it’s ready!
